Multi-material mastery at the service of your constraints

Vicari Violland machines around 1,500 tonnes of material every year. This multi-material experience allows us to adapt the machining strategy to the real behavior of the material: chip formation, heat build-up, dimensional stability, mechanical strength, sensitivity to vibration or tool marks.

We work with both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and we also master the machining of certain families of engineering plastics. Depending on the application, we offer pragmatic adjustments from the earliest stages: grade selection, tolerance adaptation, treatment recommendations, or blank optimization (bar, tube, forged, stamped).

Securing final performance with treatments

Depending on operating constraints, a part may require a heat or surface treatment to reach its performance: hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, improved appearance, or compatibility with assembly. That is why we integrate these requirements from the design study, to anticipate impacts on dimensions, surface finish and repeatability.

For several decades, we have relied on a network of qualified partners and co-development know-how that allow treatment management to be integrated into the overall service. This approach reduces interfaces, secures lead times and guarantees technical consistency between machining and final finishing.

Our material families

Material choices driven by use, not by habit

A grade can be perfect on paper, yet unsuited to the reality of a process, a volume or a function. That is why we reason according to final use: mechanical stress, friction, environment (humidity, corrosion, temperature), assembly requirements, expected finish level and production rate. This method strikes a reliable balance between performance, industrialization and competitiveness.

Steels & stainless steels

Steels and stainless steels are at the heart of many industrial projects and can become demanding depending on the grade and the expected finish level. We adapt machining parameters and inspection to secure process stability and series repeatability, including on more sensitive grades.

Aluminum

Aluminum combines lightness, performance and productivity, but calls for a strategy adapted to the grade, the expected surface condition and the finish. We size the process to maintain consistency and good dimensional stability in series production.

Plastics

Machining plastics requires a specific approach: heat management, material behavior, deformation, finish and dimensional stability. We machine engineering plastics and, where needed, high-performance families, in line with the final use.

Copper & brass

Copper alloys and brasses often meet particular functional requirements. We adapt machining and inspection to the grades, to secure surface finish, repeatability and series conformity.

Treatments

Integrating finishing into the industrial chain

Treatment is a step that must be thought of as an integral part of the process. Depending on the application, a treatment can improve strength, durability, appearance or compatibility with a specific environment. Our approach aims to anticipate impacts and secure the part « after treatment », to avoid dimensional drift and preserve the expected performance.
